Celebrating whomever you call Mum this March!
Throughout the UK we celebrate Mother’s Day in springtime however in Thailand it’s celebrated in the summer month of August! (Two Mother’s Days? We know! All the more reason to pop a bottle of champers!).
In Thailand, Mother’s Day is a huge occasion and widely celebrated across the country, just as it is here in the UK. The Jasmine flower is a symbol used across many Mother’s Day events in Thailand and not just in its floral form. Jasmine may ring a bell for you Thaikhun lovers who have dined with us before as one of our most popular Thai side dishes is Jasmine rice!
This Mother’s Day we’re not doing things by halves. We have a delicious set menu for you to share with your Mum available for collection and delivery on Deliveroo and are also launching a huge competition online (watch this space...)!
About Khun Kim, the Mother of Thaikhun!
Our Mother's Day banquet features our most popular dishes including our famous Pad Thai!
Khun Kim, the Mother of our Thaikhun family, grew up in a rural village in Thailand albeit small, Kim’s dreams were big. From a young age, Kim would learn to cook traditional Thai food with her mum in their home kitchen. From Pad Gra Prao, Laab, traditional Thai curries and much more - but Pad Thai was always the shining star!
Kim took this recipe, alongside her dreams, and ventured to the populous capital city, Bangkok. Soon after she arrived Kim started her own Pad Thai cart doing only this dish - the word soon spread about Khun Kim’s Pad Thai recipe and people flocked across the city to experience her flavour combination! This very recipe is now enjoyed widely across all of our Thaikhun restaurants and this Mother's Day you can enjoy it in the comfort of our own home as part of our exclusive menu!
We hope that you enjoy!
